Here is the final product!! Just finished up the binding on it last night and all it needs is a label and will then be delivered to a sweet little baby named Lily. Here mom is a co-worker of mine. She was born exactly 6 months after my little dude. I'm so proud of myself for making this entire quilt from my stash - except the flannel backing. I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out. The colors are awesome together. These are the same colors in her nursery too. And this is my first time to add ric rac & yo-yo's to a quilt and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! They just really jazz it up.
A special thanks to Rachel at p.s. i quilt who did the quilting. Thanks Rach! It looks awesome.
Now all I need is a picture of that sweet baby laying on it. Maybe soon....

Just alot of Craziness
We started off our couple of days of craziness on Wednesday night....
Emma and Malek in the wave pool at Sea World.
We had our end-of-season basketball party. Emma got to see her team again and get her trophy from her coach. Not a great season, but she had fun nonetheless. Malek enjoyed ordering from the menu on his own!
Then Thursday night, we had a picnic at school. Sort of a "Meet the Teacher" night. Lots of fun. Good food and drink. Emma got to meet her new teachers. She has a male teacher this year and I think she will really like being in his class. Plus this year is her first year to go no-uniform! She was very excited about that. Seemed kindof weird just dressing her in regular clothes this morning.
Then....we got up Friday morning for our summer trip to San Antonio Sea World!! Yeah - what was I thinking scheduling it for the weekend before school started, but oh well. We went, the hotel sucked, traffic was horrible and it was about 103 degrees. However, Emma had a great time and the baby was so good. He really did well on the trip down and back in the car and had a great time in the pool in between times.
Man, I forgot what it was like to pack for a baby!
Family photo....We even held a HUGE snake. Emma so graciously took the picture. She wasn't touching it.Emma and Malek in the wave pool at Sea World.

What a weekend!
This is how our weekend started off.....
Have a great week!
1 - Malek cutting his first two teeth! Yeah! And only 2 months earlier than his sister. Please excuse the dazed look on the kid's face. I've got alot of "drunk" baby pics of this poor kid.
2 - Malek figured how to get up on his knees - still not going anywhere but up none the less.
3 - Since the knees don't move in any one direction yet, spinning on his tummy works just the same in his book and he spun around into the wrought iron coffee table and got his first goose egg bonk on his little forehead.
4 - Finished up my Halloween Swap Blocks for Jane's swap.
5 - Made this cute little Tag Rag Blankie for Malek. Quality Control seems to approve.
6 - Then the wheels feel off the bus when I woke up Sunday looking like this.....dr says it's just an "allergic reaction". Yeah....jury is still out on that one.
So.....that was my last few days. This week is just as crazy getting ready for our last minute weekend trip to San Antonio before school starts on Monday - (yeah!) hehe Don't tell Em I said that. :-)Have a great week!
